Silapberdi Berdiyev
Biographical Info
Mr. Silapberdi Berdiyev was born in Turkmenistan, a small Turkic country located in Central Asia. He received his Bachelors of Education in English Language Teaching, Turkey 2008. He then pursued higher degrees and completed two additional graduate study degrees in education field. Mr. Berdiyev received both of his master’s degree from Texas; one of them being Masters of Education in School Counseling, Lamar University, TX 2013 and the most recent is Masters Education in Educational Leadership, North American University, TX 2018. He currently serves as Director of Academics and Counseling at Dove Public Schools where he has been working since 2010. In his free times, Mr. Berdiyev judges at Miss Asia, Teen Universe Oklahoma and Nina Monja Blanca and Mrs. Guatemala Oklahoma.
Mr. Berdiyev has moved to Oklahoma in 2010 and since then he is involved in numerous community organizations and service projects including OETA, Food Bank of Oklahoma, American Red Cross, BOEING OKC, YMCA, and Latino Community Development Agency (LCDA). Additionally, he has also involved his students and himself to many more educational and charitable non-profit organizations. Some of them are Metropolitan Library System, OKCPS, Dream ACT Oklahoma, Aspiring Americans, University of Oklahoma Health and Science Center, OKC Energy FC, University of Oklahoma, University of Central Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University, Oklahoma State University -OKC, and Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse.
As a counselor, Mr. Berdiyev, has established a very strong counseling program at the school he has been working for 8 years. Providing an equal and equitable opportunities for All to take full advantage of their education has been his mission from day one. His school serves to predominantly to minor and economically disadvantaged students, he has considered all of the potential barriers into the account and put together the program that makes sure every student is accepted to a college of their choice and the school was able to maintain over 90% of college enrollment for its seniors in the past 8 years. Mr. Berdiyev, later, makes sure remaining students seek a post-secondary education that meet their needs. All of the Dove alumni become official member of Dove Alumni Association where their educational and financial services are tracked. Additionally, he challenges every student to his/her fullest potential academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. He is leading the `Dove Excelerate` program at Dove. This program comes to students and parents free of charge and it helps students to earn an associate college degree along with their high school degree. Students with this program receives Associates of Science degree from Oklahoma State University-OKC and complete the basics for STEM majors. Mr. Berdiyev is also involved in other charitable organizations and society organizations. He serves in the board of Assistance League OKC and serves as a strategic planner. He also serves as judge at the Asia Society of Oklahoma. He also volunteers and serves at the youth board of Raindrop House of Oklahoma City.
